With the goal of stimulating the most innovative artistic creation among new creators and publishing their work, the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs and EMERGENT publicly convene the3nd edition of the eCREA program for the creation of photographic projects.

Who can compete for a prize?

Students enrolled in schools and universities for photography, audiovisual, communication or fine arts belonging to any European country. The students must be of age and they have to be or have been registered in an education centre during the 2009/10 or 2010/11 school year and be residents of any European country.

The Prize. Exhibition and publication

Out of all the works presented the panel will choose a maximum of six that will make up the eCREA collective exhibition in the framework of EMERGENT 2011 programming. At the same time, these works will be published in the second edition of the book that belongs to the eCREA editorial collection.The exhibition will be inaugurated and the book will be presented in a public engagement on the 26th of October 2011 in the Gothic Hall of the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs (Lleida – Spain).

The works

A project based on photography must be presented, without any limits in the theme, technique, nor in the manner it is presented. The panel will evaluate the creativity and the risk of the proposal, and therefore, all aspects that make up its quality and innovation, such as the theme itself as well as the way the work is presented in the framework of the eCREA exhibition.

The authors will have to send yours pictures through this website.

Along with the works, a photocopy of the author’s national identification document must be presented, a receipt or a registration document from the school.

Each author will be able to present only one project by filling out the attached form (in the “awards” section on the website).

The author must have the necessary permissions for publicly exhibiting his work in case any persons or buildings involved require exemption from any responsibility from the EMERGENT or IEI organisations.

The Panel

Cristina Zelich (curator) and Anselm Ros (Curator IEI) will carry out the selection of the work that will make up the exhibition and the book. They will have the authorisation to resolve any subject that is not foreseen and their verdict will not be able to be appealed.

The verdict

The panel will select the six winners before 24 June 2011. Their names will be published on the EMERGENT website on 24 July, although the organisation will get in touch with the selected authors to specify any details related to the assembly of the exhibition and the publication of the book.

Proposal admission

The deadline for turning in the proposals will be on 26 June 2011 at 12 pm

Final considerations

The selected authors will authorize EMERGENT and the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs to publish their work with the objective of disseminating and/or publicizing the artist as well as the work and festival The exhibition could be on tour for a year and at the end of this year the works will be returned to their authors.
